Chris

Hi, I'm Chris, one of the hosts of Basically EMS! I began my EMS career in 2009 as a Basic EMT, and graduated Paramedic school in 2015. My teaching career started shortly after in 2017 when I began teaching EMS courses. Currently I am the EMS Director at Idaho Medical Academy. I also oversee the IMA YouTube channel and host Basically EMS. Outside of work I love spending time with my wife and two kids, riding motorcycles and mountain bikes, and listening to punk, metal and hardcore music.

Thanks for checking out the podcast! We hope that this can be a great learning resource while still being a little fun.

Kylee

My name is Kylee and I am a paramedic. I have been in EMS since 2015 and EMS education since 2019. I started my career in the fire service as a structure/wildland firefighter/EMT and remained there for a few years. I was then hired by another fire district and worked as a 911 EMT and preceptor/mentor for a few years. While working there I attended Paramedic School and accepted a job offer during my internship with a 911 service. I worked there for 5 years as a 911 paramedic and preceptor/mentor. EMS education has been one of truest loves and I’m excited to share stories from my experience. I enjoy food, comedy, live music, and watching movies in IMAX.

Wade

Hey, I’m Wade, a member of the Basically EMS podcast team! I began my EMS journey in 2017 when I took my EMT Basic class from none other than Mr. Chris Herman. Once I completed my NREMT I took a bit of a different route and went straight into Paramedic School. After completion I worked for 4 years on an ambulance as a paramedic, which forever changed the trajectory of my life. I’ve been teaching for Idaho Medical Academy since 2023 and currently hold the title of Assistant EMS Director. In my off time I enjoy lifting weights, being outdoors (hunting/fishing), a variety of sports, and spending quality time with my family.

I hope you enjoy the podcast, and hopefully, learn a few things along the way.
